Common HVAC Misconceptions -Changing Filters

Jim talks in the video above about the biggest problems and misconceptions that people have about their HVAC systems.

Changing the Filter

Jim gets many calls asking to fix an air conditioner, and the first question he asks is if the air filter has been changed. Most people do not know you need to change the filter in your furnace every few months, depending on what kind of filter and how you run your units.

Filter Maintenance

If it's a one-inch filter, Jim recommends changing it every three months. If you run your fan continuously on a one-inch filter, you should change it about every month and a half. Two months on the four-inch filters.
