The Importance of Preventative Maintenance on Refrigeration Units

Forquer shares the importance of preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration units | Akron, OH

As part of preventative maintenance for your commercial heating and air conditioning units,  you want to consider having your refrigeration checked as well, especially for restaurant owners.

It’s a very good idea to maintain your refrigeration because this type of equipment is very costly, to purchase and to repair. It’s especially important to pay attention to the condenser coils inside these units.

A Dirty Condenser is a Compressor Killer

One of the most common issues with refrigeration units is a dirty condenser coil. Especially in restaurants, bars, or any business that has a frequently used fridge or cooler. It's very easy for these coils to get greased up and dirty which leads to a breakdown. Anybody that owns a restaurant that has replaced a refrigeration compressor knows they are not cheap. So, keeping a clean condenser coil is essential.

Energy Savings

Not only is repairing or replacing your condenser expensive but disregarding the maintenance on it will cost you in your electricity bills as well. Dirty condenser coils cause your unit to work harder meaning they’re using more energy and that increases your cost significantly.

They’re expensive to repair and replace and if they aren’t running efficiently, you’re losing money! If you are a business owner and you are about to rent a new space for that business, it is important to consult with an HVAC professional before to make sure that the heating and cooling equipment can handle the type of business youre opening. A Hair Salon For instance, a man in the middle office of a strip building wanted to open up a hair salon. The space was a thousand square feet. But he called us because he could not cool the space. It was 85 degrees in there because that space was set up for routine office work, and he had seven hair dryers. Now four of those hair dryers put out enough heat to require another ton of air conditioning. Meaning he needed almost double the capacity that he had. So this man did not know that when he took that space. Now his clients are unhappy, and he is unhappy because he is losing customers and he had just paid for a new counter, chairs, mirrors, and now he has to pay for more air.
